Major Boost for Foreign Trade Exhibitions: "Thousands of Groups Going Global" Initiative Fully Upgraded

On March 31, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) held its regular press conference for March and officially announced a key update: it will comprehensively enhance the quality and effectiveness of the "Thousands of Groups Going Global" initiative, fully support enterprises in participating in and hosting exhibitions overseas, and coordinate efforts to help enterprises expand global markets and arrange industrial layout worldwide.

For every foreign trade practitioner on the frontline of going global and every enterprise eager to secure international orders through overseas exhibitions, this is not an empty policy slogan, but tangible national-level support — the most valuable positive signal for foreign trade going global this year.

Legal Guarantee for the Upgrade

The newly revised Foreign Trade Law of the People's Republic of China took effect on March 1, with a special chapter regulating foreign trade promotion, providing long-term legal support for the CCPIT system to serve enterprises going global.

In 2025, the national CCPIT system organized more than 2,100 delegations to 92 countries and regions. After the 2026 upgrade, both the scale and services will be significantly improved.

Four Core Benefits for Enterprises

  1. Access to high-quality global exhibition resources, solving difficulties in booths and channels.

  2. Full digitalization of certificates of origin and commercial certification, reducing costs and improving efficiency.

  3. Comprehensive chain services including intellectual property rights, compliance and legal support.

  4. Regular and precise connection with overseas government and business resources for long-term cooperation.

Recommended Layout for Foreign Trade Enterprises

  • Follow key supported exhibitions: Prioritize official group programs released by CCPIT for one-stop convenience in booths, business matching and visas.

  • Precise exhibition selection: Combine product positioning, layout in both mature markets (Europe, US) and emerging markets (Belt and Road, Africa), and prepare exhibits and negotiation plans in advance.

  • Apply for local subsidies: Proactively connect with local commerce bureaus and CCPIT branches to apply for provincial and municipal exhibition subsidies, further lowering overseas costs.

  • Seize the policy window: Act quickly to leverage policy dividends including RCEP and zero-tariff treatment among 53 African countries. Exhibition and customer acquisition efficiency is at its peak now — act early, don’t wait.

China’s door to opening up will only open wider. The wave of foreign trade going global will never stop. The full upgrade of the "Thousands of Groups Going Global" initiative provides solid confidence and strong support for all foreign trade practitioners.

May we all ride the policy express in 2026, bring our products to the world stage, and win orders that belong to Chinese enterprises.
